What if I have a website that needs a refresh?

Many of the customers we work with have had existing websites in the past. We work with you to create a new, modern and functional website design that can easily replace your current look while maintaining the same domain name (ie. www.yourwebsite.com). We also look at the best strategies to maintain any Google ranking your current website may have.

Do you build websites on a specific platform?

At Fairway, we develop all of our client's websites through a competitive, design-friendly platform called Webflow. The list benefits of Webflow are extensive. From enhanced website security, to fast site speeds and SEO performance, Webflow websites perform much better out of the box then any other platform we've used in the past including Wordpress, Wix and Squarespace. The biggest benefits as designers, is that the platform allows us to build incredibly unique and custom designs for the brands that we work with, while offering a very easy back-end editor for business administrators and staff to make changes to their site.

How long does it take to build a website?

There are a few factors that weigh into the turnaround time of a website. The size and complexity of a website design or whether we're building a new website vs redesigning an existing one can certainly change the projected timeline. However, for most small business websites, the average turnaround time is somewhere between 3-4 weeks. If you're looking for an expedited turnaround, we do offer priority design services!

What industries/businesses do you build websites for?

At Fairway, we pride ourselves in being adaptable in order to provide web design services to all kinds of service-based businesses. We've worked with gyms and fitness companies, transportation and automotive businesses, golf courses and subscription-based businesses and we've developed many websites for the healthcare industry. We have worked with a number of brand new businesses with smaller budgets looking to launch their first website, as well as major organizations needing a brand-wide facelift. So in other words, we are not industry-specific!

What companies would you typically NOT work with?

At Fairway, we're all about finding the best fit for your business and we're always delighted when that gets to be us! But as much as we'd like to work with everyone, sometimes we simply don't offer the perfect solution for every situation. These would typically be circumstances we would suggest another suitor:

You run an e-commerce business and need to sell products directly from your website.
You have an extensive database through an existing server that needs to connect with the website directly. (This one's a bit tricky)
You are looking to utilize select plugins that aren't compatible with our website software.
You are tied to using a specific platform for your website, outside of Webflow.

How can I make changes to my website?

Based on how you'd like to host your website, there are a few options to edit your website. You can make website changes through the website editor, should you host with us through Managed Hosting. This allows you to change text, swap images, and upload dynamic content like blog posts or photo gallery images. If you choose to host with Webflow directly (the web design platform we use to develop your site) you'll have full access to the website designer to make any changes, anytime!

Do you work with me after my website is launched?

Absolutely! At Fairway, we believe in establishing long-term relationships with our clients. We're on call for questions or website changes when you need us!

How do I know when I need a new website?

The are many reasons you may need to redesign your company's website. Whether your site is too slow, fails to rank on search engines, is too hard to manage, or simply doesn't reflect your brand or it's quality, upgrading your website is an essential part of online growth. Every business should consider updating (if not completely redesigning) their website every 3-5 years to maintain a modern look and appeal and keep their site to search ranking standards.

Can you make changes to my existing website?

In some cases, we can help you make minor changes to an existing website if it's developed through common platforms such as Wix or Squarespace. That said, at Fairway, we offer full-suite, holistic approach to our web design and advertising services. This means that in most cases, we look to build you a new website from start to finish through our go-to web design platform, Webflow. This way we can bring you the best possible results that we know are tried and true!

Can my website integrate with booking or registration software?

Yes! Most popular booking or registration software's such as JaneApp, Wellness Living, Calendly, and many more will integrate with your Fairway developed website no problem. Most commonly through a link, or in some cases, through an embedded plugin.

What does a holistic approach to web design entail?

At Fairway, we take a comprehensive approach to web design, considering all aspects of your website's functionality, user experience, and branding to create cohesive and impactful digital experiences. Unlike "template-based" web design, our custom website solutions are unique to your brand and target audience with an effort to not just bring you a beautiful site but also deliver you measurable results.

What should a website cost in Edmonton in 2024?

The price of a website can vary depending on many factors, such as the complexity of the design, the number of pages, static vs dynamic content and more. Smaller websites with a simple design can be as little as $1,000, whereas larger websites with complex functionality can be upwards of $20,000. What goes into determining the price of a website?

Pricing out a website can be an extremely complicated process as most design companies keep their "pricing charts" to themselves. Some contract workers say they'll do a website for $500, while big firms can charge upwards of $50,000. So how can you determine what your business should be paying for a website build? At Fairway, we look at: total design hours, complexity of the design and how much "dynamic" content your site requires. Is it an additional cost to have a mobile version of my website?

Nope! Every website we design is mobile-friendly so that your site visitors can access and navigate your website easily from any device. There is no additional charge for this benefit!

Do you provide SEO services?

The short answer is, YES! However, there's a few items to note:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a big part of a business's online success. Thus, any good web designer needs to pay attention to how your website ranks both during development and after. SEO is multi-faceted. There are several factors that weigh into how well your website ranks including website performance, website traffic, fresh and relevant content, establishing backlinks, and other external items related to your Google business profile.

As a web design company primarily, the SEO services we provide are strictly to do with your website. This includes technical SEO services (how the website is built and maintained) as well as content creation. Focusing on these two items specifically, we have helped many businesses jump up the ranks dramatically and largely expanded the number of keywords that a business has ranked for.

Though our content-centric approach continues to be very effective for small businesses looking to rank locally in 2024, the other factors including creating valuable backlinks is a service we do not provide. Many traditional SEO agencies that offer SEO services as their primary product may be better suited for larger companies that look to grow on a national or global level.

Do you provide SEO and Google Ads to an existing website?

No, our SEO and Google Ads are strictly add-on services to the websites we provide. The reason for this that SEO and Google Ads both rely heavily on the performance and scalability of your website. To ensure we can bring you the best results, we offer all of our digital services as part of a holistic approach to online marketing that includes search engine optimization, site performance, branding, user-experience and advertising. We believe in our tried and true recipe for bringing businesses success online, thus we stick to providing our add-on services to websites that we have built and have the confidence to grow!

What is website hosting?

Website hosting is the process of launching and maintaining your website on the internet. In order for a website to exist to the general public it must be hosted by a reputable company. At Fairway, we build and host our client's websites with a secure, fast and well-known company called, Webflow. No matter where you go to host your site, you will either pay a yearly or monthly fee for the service. Webflow hosting is a competitively priced service that comes with a content management system for you to manage and edit your website yourself at your own convenience.

Do I host my website myself or with Fairway?

We offer three different ways to host your website:

Managed Hosting: Hosting with Fairway takes the weight off your shoulders. We handle the setup and management of your website through Webflow (which provides top-tier security and performance). We handle bugs for you if they arise and are on-call to make future website changes for you when you need including 30 free minutes of design work each month. You'll have access to your website's back-end through the Webflow website editor where you can make site edits at your own discretion.
Host with Webflow directly: Need complete control of your website? No problem. Once your website is designed, tested, and ready to launch, we can transfer your website to your very own Webflow account where you can manage your website, have complete control of the designer and speak with Webflow directly in regards to hosting-related concerns.
Host separately: If you'd like to host your website separately through a different platform, Webflow allows you to export your website's files to host on your own server, which is a particularly unique feature. Though there are some restrictions, but exporting your website files let's have the flexibility of hosting through your own server.
